contains the names of over 214,000 individuals, all of whom connect in some way to the “Founding Families” of Colchester County, Nova Scotia who settled here in or after the year 1761. This database represents 35+ years of research and has been a much used resource for thousands of researchers since it first appeared online in 1996. Regretfully it is no longer possible for me to maintain it as a free database – it must now pay its own way. After seeking the opinions of many longtime users, it was decided to offer it by subscription to help balance the costs, and still make the records available to folks looking for their Colchester relations…. I must say that the encouragement I received from folks to “go for it” was much appreciated - Thank You
The major resources used to compile the names and historical data found in GeneJane’s database, for the most part, came from records housed at the Colchester County Archives, Colchester County Probate & Deeds Offices in Truro, and the Nova Scotia Archives, Halifax. User Contributions have been a major addition as well – especially for the folks who left the county and settled in other parts of the world.
Your Membership Subscription will give you access to all information gathered and compiled in the Colchester Families Database – names, dates, places, residences, occupations, notes, biographies, transcripts of Wills, Deeds, newspaper articles etc., as well as pictures, maps and sources. (the Database will be updated no less than 3 times a year)
Just $29.99 for a 4 month subscription or $59.99 will give you a full year’s subscription a real bargain considering a single trip to the archives in Halifax usually costs me more than the price of a years subscription !!
Successful researching to you all !!
