We encourage students to visit the museum to explore and enhance their appreciation of the history of the County of Colchester. Our exhibits change approximately every three months during the school term. To find out what displays are currently available, and to book a time, please check our web site or phone the museum at 895-6284. The staff will be pleased to assist you and your students to ensure a fun-filled and rewarding visit.
There is ample parking at the rear of the building and a ramp for those who may find the outside steps a challenge. For the convenience of our visitors there is an elevator to assist in viewing all that the Museum and Archives have to offer.
Visiting hours are from Tuesday to Friday, with a nominal cost of $1.00 per student.
There is no cost for the teachers or supervisors.
Education Kits That Are Available for Loan
The following educational kits are available for loan at the museum for a period of two weeks at no cost to the schools. These are educational tools that were developed by the Nova Scotia Museum, with the exception of the Colchester Trains kit which was developed by the Colchester Historical Museum with financial assistance from the Federation of Nova Scotian Heritage. As these are popular teaching tools, we recommend that you call ahead to reserve your choice.
